If there’s one thing that Indian cuisine is globally renowned for, it’s the beautiful choreography of spices that not only stimulate the taste buds but also celebrate its cultural diversity. Be it delicacies from Kashmir & Kutch or the irresistible cuisines of Kanyakumari and Kolkata, spices have the ability to take the ingredients of a dish to the next level.

India’s dominance in spices has been well established across centuries. So unsurprisingly, spices are deeply entrenched in the country’s culinary traditions. India boasts of a long history of trading with the ancient civilizations of Rome and China. It is recognised as the largest producer (cultivating 75 of the 109 varieties listed by the International Organization for Standardization), consumer and exporter of spices (accounting for half of the global trade in spices).

As one of the key players who are proudly taking India’s rich legacy of spice trade forward, Nani Agro Foods has been in the business of spices and spice blends for the last 5 decades. Founded in 1968 by Hari Poddar as a small unit to process raw turmeric procured from the fields, the brand is now a leading exporter of spices.

In turmeric itself, the company has a diversified portfolio of offerings, such as Rajapuri, Rajapuri Salem, Desi Cusddapah, Sadashiv Pet, Nizamabad, Erode, Wai, Nanded- Hingoli, Behrampur, Allepey, Assam, and Dugiralla.

It also exports whole spices like Alsi Seeds, Cardamom, Bay leaf, Cinnamon, Mustard, Dehydrated curry leaves & Sesame, among others. Whole spice blends like Panchpuran & Garam Masala, spice powders such as Amchur powder, Anardana powder, Fenugreek powder, Nutmeg powder & Mustard powder as well as spice blends such as Chicken Fry Masala, Fish Masala powder, Rogan Josh powder, form a part of its expanded basket, among others.

Today, Nani Agro Foods is one of the largest retail private labeling houses for ground spices, catering to 25 brands in India and across the globe. Its solutions are available for numerous products from plastic containers to laminates, jars to bottles, and vacuum packaging to shrink-wrapping. While doing so, it ensures that proper care is taken to ensure that the quality of its products is aligned with global standards.

The fully integrated end-to-end player has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility spanning over an area of 450,000 sq ft (41,800 square meters). In addition to having HACCP compliant and BRC certified processing facilities, it is manned by a team of well-trained certified personnel with adequate technical and food safety knowledge. During the production process, care is taken to ensure that the products remain uncontaminated by human touch, while they undergo processes such as pre-cleaning, destining, spiraling, grading, metal separation, and packing.

Further, it has a fully equipped Quality Assurance Laboratory that is ISO 17025:2017 accredited. The lab undertakes numerous important roles such as selection of adulteration-free raw material, allocating raw material as per the customer requirement, ensuring quality during production, verifying the finished good compliance against customer specification & authenticating the right time dispatch to the customer.

Going forward, the brand aspires to expand its customer base across all countries of the globe. Towards this end, it has already established an online presence to penetrate a larger audience.
