AI will cause significant changes in media by 2025, ushering in the ‘algorithmic era of media’, according to dentsu, It goes on to describe how incorporating AI into everyday encounters would allow marketers to provide highly customised, one-on-one engagements.

AI will progress beyond the experimental stage, with practical uses in customer service and media planning. For example, Klarna’s AI assistant is projected to handle millions of client contacts, increasing service efficiency and company profits.

More than 51% of US consumers feel that the beneficial effects of AI will exceed the bad, however, concerns about distinguishing between actual and AI-generated material remain strong, according to the survey.

The paper also states that 2025 is ‘The Year of Impact’. With technology at its core, the research examines ten important themes that will impact media consumption and advertising strategies in the coming year. According to the report, brands will reinvest in storytelling in 2025, with a focus on specific interests and deep fan networks.

As AI continues to dominate, the report emphasises how authentic storytelling will help brands break past algorithmic bubbles. Nearly 85% of CMOs intend to expand their investment in short-form content, influencer marketing, and livestreaming.
