The minister urged the industry not to compromise on product quality, as this would harm not only brands but also the country’s image.
He stated that the government plans to establish 100 food testing facilities to guarantee that products fulfil regulatory standards. The minister informed the industry that he would work to overcome any concerns or impediments to the growth of the food processing sector.
Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan stressed the importance of reducing waste and promoting value addition. The minister also urged industry players to make India a worldwide food hub. “Indian cuisine goods should gain global recognition. “Indian food standards should be accepted as global norms,” minister added.
50 food irradiation units will be created in order to increase processing levels. On the sidelines of the occasion, he stated that the ministry has already requested expressions of interest (EoIs) from prospective businesses to establish multi-product food irradiation units.
