Taiwan-based Ennoconn Corp, a subsidiary of Foxconn and a key player in Industrial IoT and hardware manufacturing, has launched its operations in India with a focus on the country’s industrial automation and digital transformation sector. As the industrial PC (IPC) division of Taiwanese electronics powerhouse Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (Foxconn), Ennoconn specializes in producing a range of industrial hardware and software solutions—from embedded motherboards and modules to embedded computer systems, box computers, 5G computing platforms, and high-definition 4K/8K displays.

Industrial PCs, known for their rugged design and high performance, are integral to various applications in manufacturing, automation, transportation, energy, and healthcare. Currently, the market is led by major firms, including Siemens, Taiwan-based Advantech, and Rockwell Automation.

Ennoconn’s move into India coincides with Foxconn’s broader strategy to diversify beyond iPhone assembly by venturing into areas like information and communication technology (ICT) products and AI servers. It remains uncertain whether Ennoconn will use Foxconn’s existing production facilities or establish a new manufacturing base in India, as both companies have not responded to inquiries regarding their specific plans.

In addition, Foxconn operates a large Apple iPhone assembly plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, which employs 40,000 workers, and is investing ₹25,000 crore to set up an expansive iPhone assembly and electronics manufacturing facility near Doddaballapur, Karnataka

Sources also suggest that Ennoconn’s entry into India could be part of its wider expansion efforts in collaboration with Japan’s Sharp Corporation, following their partnership last year to develop innovative businesses in the smart retail and energy sectors across Asia.
