JioFinance Introduces Digital Gold Purchases Through Reward Points, Starting at Rs 100
Mumbai, November 5, 2026: Jio Financial Services’ subsidiary, Jio Finance Platform and Service, has introduced a new feature on the JioFinance app that allows customers to convert reward points earned from everyday digital transactions into 24-carat digital gold.
The facility enables JioFinance+ customers to use their accumulated JioPoints to purchase digital gold without making an additional cash payment at the time of redemption.
Earn JioPoints Through Everyday Transactions
Customers using the JioFinance app can earn JioPoints through eligible transactions, including UPI payments and bill payments.
Each JioPoint has a fixed redemption value of 25 paise. Customers need a minimum of 400 points, equivalent to Rs 100, to purchase digital gold.
The quantity of gold received will depend on the prevailing gold price at the time of redemption.
For example, customers who accumulate 1,000 JioPoints will have a redemption value of Rs 250, which can be converted into digital gold based on the applicable purchase price.
How to Buy Digital Gold Using JioPoints
The process is integrated into the JioFinance application. Eligible customers can check their available JioPoints balance and view the corresponding gold value before completing the transaction.
Once the redemption is confirmed, the purchased digital gold is automatically credited to the customer’s JioGold account.
Customers who do not already have a JioGold account can also initiate the account-opening process through the app.
This eliminates the need to transfer reward points to another platform for purchasing gold.
Available Only for JioFinance+ Customers
The new facility is currently limited to JioFinance+ customers. The company has not announced a timeline for expanding the service to other users.
The initiative adds a savings-oriented redemption option to the company’s digital rewards programme, allowing customers to turn points earned through routine transactions into gold holdings.
It could particularly appeal to users who prefer accumulating small amounts of gold rather than making larger purchases.
However, the value of digital gold is linked to market prices and may fluctuate over time.
