KENT RO has entered India’s home energy market with lithium batteries, solar hybrid inverters and smart power-backup products under its new KENT New Energy division. The company has invested around ₹250 crore in a Noida manufacturing facility and plans to expand annual production capacity from 3.5 GWh to 10 GWh.
New Delhi, October 21 — KENT RO Systems Ltd, known primarily for its water purifiers, has entered the domestic energy sector with the launch of lithium batteries, solar hybrid inverters and smart power-backup solutions under a new division called KENT New Energy.
The expansion comes after the company moved beyond water purification into air-related products such as Kühl BLDC fans. KENT now plans to address what it describes as the third essential household requirement after water and air — reliable power.
The company has introduced two major product categories. The first is solar energy storage, designed for homes with rooftop solar systems and capable of supporting high-load appliances such as air conditioners and pumps.
The second is power backup, which includes lithium batteries compatible with existing home inverters and UPS systems, along with new inverter models.
Both categories use smart technology and app-based monitoring.
KENT RO Chairman and Managing Director Mahesh Gupta said the company wants to extend consumers’ long-standing trust in the KENT brand across three everyday essentials — water, air and power.
He said the company aims to help households generate, store and manage energy, while reducing long-term energy costs and supporting India’s energy transition.
Lithium Batteries Up to 16 kWh With 10-Year Warranty
In its solar energy-storage range, KENT has launched high-capacity lithium batteries in 5.1 kWh, 11.8 kWh and 16 kWh variants.
The batteries can store energy generated from solar panels or supplied by the grid for use during evening hours or power cuts.
According to the company, the batteries are designed for more than 6,000 charging cycles and come with a 10-year warranty.
For users requiring larger storage capacity, up to 16 battery packs can be connected in parallel.
KENT has also launched a range of solar hybrid inverters.
Single-phase models are available in 3 kW, 5 kW and 6 kW capacities, while three-phase models are available in 10 kW, 12 kW and 15 kW capacities.
The inverters combine power from solar panels, the electricity grid and batteries and manage supply based on household requirements.
The company said a 3 kW inverter can support an inverter air conditioner along with household lighting, while a 5 kW model can support two inverter ACs, a submersible pump and lighting loads.
4G Monitoring and Mobile App
A key feature of the new range is KENT’s own software-based monitoring system.
Each solar hybrid inverter will come with a 4G data logger and a five-year data pack, with the cost included in the product.
Through the KENT Central Command mobile app, installers will be able to monitor the live status of all installed inverters and remotely modify settings when required.
This is expected to reduce the need for technicians to physically visit customers’ homes for routine configuration changes.
The system uses a mobile network instead of relying on household Wi-Fi, helping keep the inverter continuously connected.
KENT said the related data will be stored on its servers in India in line with requirements of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Lithium Battery Prices Start at ₹22,000
For conventional household power backup, KENT has introduced 12-volt and 24-volt lithium batteries designed as alternatives to traditional lead-acid batteries.
Their capacity ranges from 1.28 kWh to 3.84 kWh.
The company says the batteries have a design life of around 10 years, support a 90% depth of discharge and do not require water refilling.
Consumers can use the KENT mobile app to track battery charge level, energy consumption and battery condition.
Prices for the 12-volt lithium battery start at ₹22,000.
KENT estimates that households could save between ₹30,000 and ₹1 lakh over 10 years compared with traditional lead-acid batteries, depending on usage and replacement requirements.
The company has also introduced a KENT All-in-One Inverter, combining an inverter and lithium battery in one compact unit.
It has additionally launched H1 Series Home UPS models for household backup.
Both the All-in-One Inverter and H1 Series will be available in 1100 VA and 2400 VA variants.
₹250 Crore Investment in Noida Plant
KENT RO has invested around ₹250 crore in a lithium battery and inverter manufacturing facility in Sector 159, Noida.
The plant is spread across six acres and includes nearly 300,000 square feet of fully air-conditioned manufacturing space.
Its current annual installed production capacity is 3.5 GWh, which the company plans to increase to 10 GWh within the next six months.
For battery manufacturing, KENT is sourcing cells directly from global Tier-1 suppliers including EVE and REPT.
The company is also working with leading Tier-1 inverter manufacturers for its solar hybrid inverter portfolio.
Rooftop Solar Growth Opens New Market
KENT sees growing demand for rooftop solar and energy-storage systems as a major opportunity.
Citing Mordor Intelligence estimates, the company said India’s inverter battery market could be worth around $1.31 billion, or more than ₹11,000 crore, in 2026, with double-digit growth expected through 2031.
Demand for lithium-ion batteries and hybrid inverters is expected to grow faster than the broader market.
According to Mercom India Research data cited by the company, residential installations accounted for around 82% of the 2.7 GW rooftop solar capacity added in India during the first quarter of 2026.
Government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana are also supporting adoption of residential rooftop solar systems.
KENT plans to sell the new products through its existing dealer network, retail stores and online channels.
Larger solar hybrid inverter and energy-storage systems will also be sold through solar system integrators and EPC partners.
The company said it will provide product demonstrations, technical training and after-sales support to customers and installers.
