Mundra Facility Strengthens Trade Logistics
New Delhi, September 4, 2026: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd has announced plans to launch dedicated Empty Container Yard operations at Mundra Port and SEZ.
The facility will provide integrated services across the empty container lifecycle, including storage, maintenance, inspection and movement to exporters and container freight stations.
APSEZ said the dedicated yard will help streamline container handling and improve services for shipping lines and customers.
The initiative is expected to support faster turnaround times, reduce unnecessary container movements and improve the utilisation of logistics infrastructure.
According to the company, Mundra Port handles nearly 35 per cent of India’s container trade and plays a major role in the country’s import-export supply chain.
The port is estimated to handle around 1.6 million TEUs of empty containers annually.
APSEZ said the dedicated yard would be operated by the company and/or partners, including container freight stations and shipping lines.
The project is expected to strengthen Mundra’s position as a major gateway for India’s international trade.
