The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has launched a revamped version of the TRAI MyCall mobile application, enabling telecom consumers to directly rate and report their voice-calling experience.
Launched in New Delhi on August 3, 2026, the updated citizen-centric application allows mobile subscribers to provide real-time feedback about voice calls along with relevant network information. The feedback collected through the platform will be shared in anonymised form with TRAI and telecom service providers.
According to the regulator, the information will help telecom companies identify areas where network performance needs improvement and take targeted corrective measures. It will also strengthen TRAI’s regulatory oversight by providing consumer-generated data about the actual quality of experience across telecom networks.
The revamped application includes a simple one-to-five-star call rating system. Consumers can also report specific problems such as call drops, echo during calls, delays in audio transmission, cross-connections, broken voice, calls taking too long to connect and situations where one party cannot hear the other.
To encourage wider participation, the app provides an automatic feedback prompt after a voice call. It also allows users to check their past ratings and feedback on an interactive map. A Coverage Test feature has been included to help consumers assess signal strength at their location.
India has more than one billion telecom subscribers, and voice calling continues to be one of the most widely used telecom services. TRAI said that although operators’ network performance is measured through technical Quality of Service parameters, consumers’ perceived Quality of Experience is equally important.
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said every telecom consumer experiences network quality first-hand. He added that immediate feedback through the MyCall app would help service providers detect deficiencies, take corrective action and improve customer satisfaction.
He encouraged mobile users to download the application and regularly share feedback about their calling experience. TRAI believes that active consumer participation can contribute to a more transparent, data-driven and consumer-focused system for improving mobile communication services across the country.
