Food processing minister inaugurates RBSM Bihar with 70+ global buyers

The Mega International Reverse Buyer Seller Meet on F&B products, Bihar was inaugurated today at Gyaan Bhawan by Shri Chirag Paswan, Hon’ble Minister of Food Processing Industries, Government of India — setting the stage for two days of powerful international trade connect and food innovation.

Backed by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Government of Bihar, and supported by APEDA and TPCI, this high-voltage event brings together 70+ global buyers from over 20 countries and 100 Indian exhibitors, showcasing the state’s growing stature as an agri-export powerhouse.

Shri Chirag Paswan, Minister of Food Processing Industries, Government of India inaugurated the Mega Reverse Buyer Seller Meet on F&B products at Gyaan Bhawan today.

The 2-day event is being organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India and the State Government of Bihar, with the support of Agricultural and Processed Foods Development Authority (APEDA) and the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI).

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Shri Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary, MoFPI, GoI, Shri Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA, Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar & Agriculture, Shri Nitish Mishra, Hon’ble Industry Minister, Govt. Of Bihar and Shri Mihir Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Govt. of Bihar.

Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Chirag Paswan stated, “I am happy to note that over 70 buyers, including 6 prominent global retail chains from more than 20 countries are participating in this RBSM. This has been possible due to the efforts of all stakeholders, including central and state government, APEDA and TPCI.” He added that the government is moving ahead to build a robust ecosystem for complete handholding of current and upcoming entrepreneurs in this sector. This effort is in line with the Hon’ble PM’s vision that the youth of the country should be job creators and not just job seekers.

While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mohit Singla, Chairman, TPCI, stated, “I am truly appreciative of the efforts being made by the Government of India and state government of Bihar towards the success of the agriculture sector of the state. I am hopeful that businesses of the state will take advantage of this powerful platform.”

As Bihar positions itself as a rising agri-export hub, this meet presents a unique platform to witness and report on the state’s evolving F&B landscape.
