German ambassador to India, Walter J Linder, said Germany is removing the ban on most travelers from five countries which have been hit by Delta variant of COVID-19. Robert Koch Institute, a German public health agency, reported India, Russia, Portugal, Nepal and UK would be reclassified as ‘high-incidence areas’ from 7th July onwards.
Currently these five nations are listed as virus variant countries. Germany banned the travelers from India owing to the rise in coronavirus cases. India was classified as ‘virus variant country’ by Germany at the April end.
The change means that people visiting from the above five countries will now have to satisfy simpler requirements. Furthermore, people who have received both the doses of vaccination or who can provide evidence that they have recovered fully from COVID-19 are not required to isolate themselves on their arrival or return.
