Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, is set to establish its first integrated food park in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹768 crore. The facility will be developed in Brahmanapalli village of Orvakal, forming part of the company’s broader plan to invest ₹40,000 crore in food parks across India over the next three years.

Strategically located about three hours from Hyderabad and five hours from Bengaluru by road, the Kurnool park will include manufacturing units for a diverse product range, including chocolates, confectionery, snacks, noodles, atta, rice, and spices.

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC) has approved the allotment of 120 acres to RCPL for this project. The site lies close to an 80-acre land parcel earlier allotted to the company for a planned beverages manufacturing unit. The proposal is expected to be presented before the state cabinet for final approval within two weeks.

This development follows RCPL’s recent MoU with the Maharashtra government to set up a similar facility in Nagpur. However, Andhra Pradesh has moved ahead by providing faster approvals and land allotment, making Kurnool the site of RCPL’s first operational food park.

Planned in two phases, the project will generate around 500 jobs.

Phase one will have a production capacity of:

  • 23,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of spices,
  • 3,800 TPA of snacks, and
  • 14,400 TPA of noodles and pasta.

Phase two will add capacities of 32,900 TPA of confectionery and chocolates, 36,500 TPA of rice, and 120,000 TPA of atta.

At Reliance’s recent AGM, executive director Ms Isha Ambani noted that the food park investments are central to RCPL’s ambition of becoming India’s largest consumer goods company, targeting ₹1 lakh crore in annual revenue within five years.
