Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin launched the ‘Tamil Nadu Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme‘ on Wednesday, aiming to attract investments of Rs 30,000 crore and create 60,000 jobs in the state. The initiative, introduced by the state government, focuses on boosting the production of electronic components within Tamil Nadu.

This move follows the state’s earlier introduction of the ‘Semiconductor and Advanced Electronics Policy 2024,’ which aims to promote value-added manufacturing and attract large-scale investments in semiconductor-related sectors. The policy has positioned Tamil Nadu as a leader in the production of electronic goods.

In continuation of these efforts to strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem, the Chief Minister has now launched this special scheme focused on electronic component manufacturing,” an official statement said. The new scheme will offer incentives to companies that qualify for the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme.

The Tamil Nadu government plans to provide matching incentives to those companies benefiting from the Centre’s scheme. This initiative is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to support the electronics manufacturing sector and attract more investments.

Tamil Nadu also made significant strides in electronics exports, achieving a record US$ 14.65 billion in the 2024-25 financial year. This milestone positions Tamil Nadu as the leading state in India for electronics exports, making it the first state to reach this achievement.
