UK not looking for flexibility in data norms

UK is not seeking flexibility in India’ data norms, in the talks of trade and investment treaty between the two countries. During the commerce ministerial assembly held on 6th February 2020, between UK and India, an Enhanced Commerce Partnership (ETP) has been planned to be launched and both sides are thus engaged in finalising the ETP’s modalities.

Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs of India, says, “That is a part of the continuing course of and each side would proceed to debate and deal with all problems with bilateral pursuits as a part of the common bilateral commerce engagement between India and the UK.”

Puri further added that ministers are working to relaunch the UK-India CEO Discussion board. The Indian authorities are discussing the commerce issues with UK to further improve financial relations among them.
