Digital Gold Enables Jewellery Payments
New Delhi, September 5, 2026: Paytm has partnered with CaratLane to allow users to use their accumulated Digital Gold towards jewellery purchases, expanding the utility of digital gold beyond savings and investment.
Under the partnership, Paytm users will be able to browse and purchase CaratLane jewellery directly through the Paytm app. The catalogue will include rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, bangles and bracelets, covering everyday wear as well as gifting, wedding and festive requirements.
Before completing a purchase, customers will be shown the total jewellery cost, including applicable making charges and GST. This will allow users to understand the overall purchase value before making the payment.
If the value of the customer’s Digital Gold is lower than the jewellery price, the remaining amount can be paid through Paytm UPI, credit or debit cards, net banking and other available payment methods.
The integration eliminates the need for customers to separately sell their Digital Gold, transfer the proceeds to a bank account and then use that money to purchase jewellery. Instead, the accumulated digital gold can be directly applied towards the jewellery transaction.
CaratLane will be responsible for order fulfilment, packaging and home delivery. Delivery will be available across serviceable pin codes, while customers will be able to track their orders through Paytm.
Paytm Vice President Veer Mishra said the partnership is aimed at taking Digital Gold beyond savings by connecting it with jewellery purchases. For CaratLane, the arrangement creates an additional digital sales channel through Paytm, while Paytm gains a new use case for its Digital Gold offering.
Paytm users can purchase Digital Gold as a one-time investment or through daily, weekly and monthly SIP options. The offering provides 24-carat gold, with MMTC-PAMP responsible for the underlying gold, which is stored in insured vaults.
The partnership therefore creates a direct link between digital gold savings and physical jewellery purchases on a single platform. Customers, however, should check the total jewellery price, making charges, GST and the available value of their Digital Gold before completing a transaction.
