Engineering firm secures two major transmission line projects to strengthen Western-Eastern power connectivity across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand

New Delhi, August 10: Engineering company Bajel Projects has secured two transmission line orders worth more than ₹700 crore under the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part A, marking a significant addition to its power transmission project portfolio.
The company said it has received orders identified as TL06 and TL02, although it has not disclosed the exact value of each individual order. Based on Bajel Projects’ internal project classification, TL06 falls under the Mega order category, valued between ₹300 crore and ₹400 crore, while TL02 qualifies as an UltraMega order, with a value exceeding ₹400 crore.
The first project, TL06 – LILO of Ranchi (New) – New PPSP 400kV D/C Line at Jamshedpur (New), involves the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of new 400kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Jamshedpur (New) with Ranchi (New) and New PPSP.
The second project, TL02 – Raigarh (Tamnar) – Jamshedpur (New) 765kV D/C Line, Part-II, involves the construction of a new 765kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Raigarh (Tamnar) with Jamshedpur (New).
Together, the two projects are expected to strengthen inter-regional power evacuation capacity between India’s Western and Eastern regions. They will also improve grid connectivity across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and support the broader WR-ER transmission corridor.
Bajel Projects Managing Director and CEO Rajesh Ganesh said the company’s ability to secure the two orders in quick succession demonstrates its execution capabilities across both 400kV and 765kV transmission systems.
He said the projects are important for strengthening power flows between the Western and Eastern regions and represent one of the company’s largest transmission line wins to date.
The company said its teams are prepared to execute both projects with a focus on safety and quality standards.
The orders come at a time when India’s power infrastructure requires stronger transmission networks to support rising electricity demand and improve the movement of power between different regions. The projects will therefore contribute to strengthening the country’s inter-regional electricity transmission infrastructure.
