The PM Vishwakarma scheme is set to complete three years on September 17, 2026. Launched on September 17, 2023, the programme provides support to traditional artisans and craftspeople through skill training, financial assistance and tools aimed at strengthening their livelihoods. Beneficiaries receive basic and advanced training, with a stipend of ₹500 per day during the training period. The scheme covers people aged 18 and above working with their hands and traditional tools across 18 traditional trades, including carpenters, blacksmiths, masons, cobblers, tailors and goldsmiths.
