NEW DELHI — Xiaomi fans in India have a massive reason to celebrate. After a four-year hiatus, the technology giant is officially bringing its premium “T” smartphone series back to the country. The company has confirmed that the sub-flagship Xiaomi 17T will make its grand Indian debut on June 4, following its global unveiling on May 28.

The device is being positioned as a powerful, camera-centric all-rounder meant to bridge the gap between premium mid-rangers and ultra-expensive flagships.

A Visual and Performance Powerhouse

According to leaked specifications, the Xiaomi 17T is shaking up to be a serious performance contender. It is expected to sport a gorgeous 6.59-inch 1.5K+ flat LTPS AMOLED display complete with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate—making it incredibly snappy for gaming and daily scrolling.

Under the hood, the device is heavily rumored to be driven by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. This makes it an ideal driver for resource-heavy tasks and seamless multi-tasking.

Pro-Grade Leica Cameras and Massive Power

The biggest selling point of the Xiaomi 17T is undeniably its camera setup. Xiaomi has officially teased its ongoing partnership with iconic camera brand Leica for this model. The rear camera housing is expected to feature:

  • A 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for crystal-clear low-light shots.
  • A 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom, bringing far-off subjects incredibly close without losing detail.
  • A 12MP ultra-wide camera for landscapes.

To keep this high-performance setup running, Xiaomi is implementing next-generation silicon-carbon battery technology. The phone will house a massive 6,500mAh battery that promises multi-day endurance, supported by 67W HyperCharge fast wireless and wired charging.

Price and Availability

The phone will come with an IP68 rating for top-tier dust and water resistance and is expected to boot Android 16-based HyperOS right out of the box. Following its June 4 launch, the Xiaomi 17T will be sold online via Amazon India, mi.com, and across major physical retail stores nationwide. Official pricing details will be unveiled at the launch event.
