New Delhi, July 1: Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by around ₹183 with effect from July 1, providing significant relief to hotels, restaurants and commercial establishments. However, there has been no revision in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.
In Delhi, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced from ₹3,113.50 to ₹2,930, while the domestic LPG cylinder continues to be priced at ₹942. Similar price revisions have been announced across major cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Patna.
The latest reduction marks the first major cut in commercial LPG prices this year after several consecutive monthly increases driven by supply concerns and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Industry experts believe the easing of tensions and the normalisation of energy supplies through key international shipping routes have helped stabilize global fuel markets.
Updated commercial LPG prices now stand at ₹2,885.50 in Mumbai, ₹3,072 in Kolkata, ₹3,100 in Chennai and ₹3,217 in Patna. Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged at ₹941.50 in Mumbai, ₹968 in Kolkata, ₹957.50 in Chennai and ₹1,031.05 in Patna.
The reduction is expected to lower operating costs for commercial kitchens, restaurants, hotels and food businesses, although household consumers will not see any immediate relief as domestic LPG prices remain unchanged.
