Chennai, June 30: Godrej Properties has acquired a 47-acre land parcel through an outright purchase near Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) in South Chennai, further expanding its footprint in one of the city’s fastest-growing residential corridors.
The company plans to develop a plotted residential project on the site, which offers a buildable potential of nearly 1.2 million square feet. The development is expected to generate an estimated revenue of around ₹500 crore.
Located off OMR, the project enjoys strong connectivity to major employment hubs including SIPCOT, Siruseri, Kelambakkam, Vandalur, Guduvanchery, and the Mahabalipuram region, making it an attractive destination for homebuyers.
Godrej Properties Managing Director and CEO Gaurav Pandey said South Chennai is witnessing rising demand for well-planned residential communities driven by improving infrastructure and increasing end-user interest. He added that the company remains focused on creating quality developments that deliver long-term value while strengthening its presence in the Chennai market.
The acquisition comes after a strong financial year for Godrej Properties. In FY26, the company retained its position as India’s largest residential developer by booking value for the third consecutive year, reporting bookings worth ₹34,171 crore, up 16% year-on-year.
The company also achieved record collections of ₹19,965 crore during FY26 and has set a target of exceeding ₹39,000 crore in residential bookings in FY27 through multiple new project launches and sustained sales growth.
