HMD has expanded its Vibe smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G. Positioned in the affordable 5G segment, the new smartphone comes with features including a 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, a 64MP main camera and a large 6,000mAh battery.
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 17,999.
The smartphone will go on sale through Flipkart starting October 8. As part of the launch offer, buyers using select bank cards will be eligible for a 10 percent cashback. The handset will be available in three colour options — Silver Mist, Aqua Green and Cosmic Purple.
Coming to specifications, the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. It runs on Android 16.
For photography, the smartphone features a 64MP primary rear camera. The camera setup supports features such as Night Mode, Portrait Mode, slow-motion recording and AI scene recognition. On the front, users get a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.
One of the key highlights of the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G is its 6,000mAh battery. It supports 33W fast charging, and the company is providing a compatible charging adapter in the box.
The handset weighs 197 grams and supports 5G connectivity, dual SIM functionality and a hybrid SIM slot. For security, it gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other sensors include an accelerometer and proximity sensor.
With a starting price of Rs 15,999, the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G enters India’s competitive affordable 5G smartphone segment, where it will compete with similarly priced devices from brands such as Infinix and Lava.
