New Delhi, August 22: JioBlackRock Mutual Fund has announced changes to the investment framework of six schemes, expanding the range of assets some funds can invest in and clarifying maturity provisions for its liquid and overnight offerings. The revised rules will take effect from August 26 and are being implemented in line with SEBI’s March 20, 2026 master circular on categorisation and rationalisation of mutual fund schemes.
Flexi Cap, Large Cap Get Gold-Silver Option
Under the revised framework, JioBlackRock Flexi Cap Fund will continue to invest 65-100% of its assets in equity and equity-related instruments across large-, mid- and small-cap companies. It will be permitted to allocate up to 35% to money-market and other liquid instruments and mutual fund units, up to 20% to gold and silver ETFs, and up to 10% to InvIT units. The Large Cap Fund will maintain an 80-100% allocation to large-cap equities, while gaining options to invest up to 20% each in specified liquid instruments and gold-silver ETFs, along with up to 10% in InvITs.
The Sector Rotation Fund will similarly gain broader investment flexibility through money-market and liquid instruments, mutual fund units, gold and silver ETFs and InvITs. JioBlackRock Arbitrage Fund will also be allowed to invest in gold ETFs, silver ETFs and exchange-traded commodity derivatives, widening its permitted asset universe.
Liquid, Overnight Fund Rules Clarified
For JioBlackRock Liquid Fund, references to 91 days in its scheme documents will be revised to specifically state “91 calendar days”. The scheme will invest in debt and money-market instruments with residual maturities not exceeding that period. Similarly, the Overnight Fund’s 30-day references will become “30 calendar days”. It can invest up to 5% of net assets in eligible government securities or Treasury Bills with residual maturities of up to 30 calendar days for specified margin and collateral requirements.
The fund house has also announced name changes for its Short Duration Fund and Low Duration Fund. For investors, the revisions primarily alter the permitted investment universe and clarify existing maturity provisions rather than changing the fundamental equity allocation requirements of the Flexi Cap and Large Cap schemes.
