New Delhi, August 17: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an ultra-mega order in the Middle East for the development of multiple offshore facilities, strengthening the Indian engineering major’s position in the region’s energy infrastructure market.
The company said L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore) will execute the project under an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract.
L&T classifies orders valued at more than ₹15,000 crore as ultra-mega projects.
Major Offshore Contract
The latest award involves the development of multiple offshore facilities in the Middle East.
LTEH Offshore will be responsible for the project’s engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning requirements.
The company said the order reinforces its long-standing presence in the region and reflects customer confidence in its ability to execute large and technically complex offshore developments.
The contract adds to L&T’s growing international portfolio of major energy and infrastructure projects.
Four Decades Of Experience
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore has built extensive experience in offshore engineering and construction over several decades.
The business has delivered a wide range of projects across global markets, including fixed offshore platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and modifications, deepwater subsea infrastructure and decommissioning programmes.
Its experience in complex offshore environments is expected to support execution of the latest Middle East project.
Integrated Project Capabilities
L&T said its offshore business is supported by integrated in-house engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication and installation capabilities.
The company also operates a specialised fleet of vessels that supports offshore construction and installation activities.
This combination of engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities and offshore resources allows L&T to undertake large projects across different stages of the energy infrastructure value chain.
Middle East Remains Key Market
The latest order highlights the importance of the Middle East to L&T’s international energy business.
The company has established a long-standing presence in the region through its involvement in major offshore developments.
The Middle East continues to invest heavily in energy infrastructure as countries expand production capabilities, upgrade existing facilities and develop new offshore assets.
For L&T, these investments create opportunities to leverage its engineering and project-execution capabilities in one of the world’s largest energy markets.
Global Energy Portfolio Expands
L&T’s offshore business has executed projects across multiple geographies, covering both conventional energy infrastructure and increasingly complex offshore developments.
Its portfolio includes platforms, pipelines, subsea structures, modifications and decommissioning projects.
The latest ultra-mega order further expands the company’s international order book and provides additional visibility for its energy hydrocarbon business.
Strong Order Book Opportunity
The Middle East contract adds to L&T’s pipeline of large international infrastructure and energy projects.
With the company continuing to target major engineering and construction opportunities across global markets, large offshore contracts are expected to remain an important part of its international growth strategy.
The latest award demonstrates the scale of projects Indian engineering companies are increasingly capable of executing overseas and reinforces L&T’s position as a major global EPC player.
