In a recent catastrophic move, which is causing many Indians working in Kuwait to lose their jobs, the Kuwaiti government has decided to recognize degrees only if India’s National Board of Accreditation (NBA) approves of the courses they studied. This condition has been laid down by the Kuwait Engineers Society for Indian engineers to get the mandatory no-objection certificate. In response to this, the HRD Ministry has sent a list of premiere engineering institutes in the country to Kuwait authorities.
“A high-level Indian delegation had visited Kuwait to understand and resolve the issue and after discussion with the Kuwait authorities, it was decided to send them lists of ‘Non-NBA premier institute’ and ‘Institutes of National Importance’ which has been sent to the Indian Embassy in Kuwait for onward submission to Kuwait authorities,” according to a statement by the HRD Ministry.
