Indonesian trade minister Enggartiasto Lukita has stated that he had a fruitful meeting with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal. Lukita had led a three-member group comprising Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretary General in the meeting last week. He assured that efforts are on to address India’s concerns on the RCEP and added, “It is not India alone that has concerns over elements of RCEP. Indonesia also has some concerns, which we are trying to address”. India has clearly stated that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is not a win-win situation for all. One major demand by India pertains to easier mobility for its services professionals across borders under Mode 4. This is yet to be conceded by the members.
