The world’s most instagrammable cafe, EL&N Cafe, will open its doors to Indians on October 17 at the Jio World Plaza in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, as high-end cafe chains seek to harness the country’s burgeoning base of affluent shoppers.

EL&N, or Eat, Live & Nourish Cafe, was founded in 2017 by fashion and lifestyle entrepreneur Alexandra Miller. It is known for its pink interiors, floral backdrops, and neon words of wisdom, which, combined with its all-day dining, patisserie, and speciality coffee, provide a unique experience for consumers, according to sector experts.

According to insiders, India will be the eighth market and Mumbai will be the 36th EL&N Cafe location, as luxury brands from fashion to cosmetics and food make their way to India.

Armani/Caffe, a boutique cafe owned by fashion designer Giorgio Armani, opened a location in India last month, as well as at Jio World Plaza. Both café brands have franchise agreements with Reliance Brands, which is a division of Reliance Retail. A message made to Reliance Brands and Reliance Retail received no response as of press time.

While Mumbai is the first stop for the two high-end café chains, sources suggest they would expand into regions such as Delhi and Bengaluru in the future.
