India secures 63rd rank in the Ease of Doing Business Report

For the third year in a row, India featured among the top 10 performers of World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business ranking. From 77th position last year, India climbed the ladder by moving up 14 places to 63rd rank. Everything from the government’s flagship ”Make in India” scheme to other reforms attracting foreign investment to reforms related to insolvency & taxation contributed to India’s performance.

“This is the third year in a row that India makes it to top 10 in Doing Business, which is a success which very few countries have done over the 20 years of the project, Without exception, the other countries that have done this are very small, population-wise, and homogeneous,” Simeon Djankov, Director of Development Economics, World bank, told reporters.
