Indo-French strategy for green hydrogen

In an effort to support sustainable energy transitions and reach carbon neutrality goals, France and India on Tuesday adopted an ambitious plan for the development of green hydrogen. The French embassy stated that the plan intends to integrate the French and Indian hydrogen ecosystems in order to create a dependable and long-lasting value chain for decarbonized hydrogen.

“Today, I am proud to open this ambitious new chapter in the Indo-French partnership for the planet. France and India are teaming up to power the decarbonised hydrogen industry of the future,” French Minister of State for Development and International Partnerships Chrysoula Zacharopoulou said. The “ambitious and practical strategy,” will speed up “our renewable energy transitions and help us reach our carbon neutrality ambitions,” according to the French minister.

Both nations have set ambitious national hydrogen programmes and share the view that decarbonized hydrogen has enormous potential.
