Indo-US trade to reach US$ 238 bn by 2025

US-India bilateral trade is expected to grow from US$ 143 billion to US$ 238 billion by 2025, according to a report by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). The forum has projected this figure based on the CAGR of 7.5% in bilateral trade over the past 7 years. In case the growth rate is 10-12.5% as witnessed in 2017 and 2018, trade could reach US$ 283-327 billion,. The assessment underscores pathways for growth and economic opportunity in our bilateral ties by highlighting current trends. Sectors of potential interest to US for trade and investment are defence, commercial aircrafts, oil and LNG, coal, machinery and electronics. On the Indian side, opportunities are strong in automotive, pharmaceuticals, seafood, IT and travel services.
