The Foundation for Science, Innovation, and Development (FSID), the innovation hub of IISc, has introduced Pravriddhi, a product accelerator program designed to promote collaboration among enterprises, academia, research labs, and investors.

During the launch, IISc Director Prof. Govindan Rangarajan highlighted that India faces significant challenges, including import dependency, global competitiveness, and workforce readiness, as it pursues ambitious economic and industrial goals. He emphasized that Pravriddhi addresses these issues by offering access to IISc’s state-of-the-art facilities, R&D expertise, and a strong network of strategic partners nationwide. Pravriddhi focuses on advancing market-driven and design-led manufacturing.

The program aims to tackle challenges such as import dependency, workforce readiness, and the need for global competitiveness. By leveraging IISc’s advanced facilities, Pravriddhi seeks to position India as a leading international manufacturing hub.

FSID operates through several initiatives: CORELabs for collaborative research with corporations, STEMCell for deep-tech startups addressing societal challenges, TIME for driving innovation in mid-sized enterprises, and SEED for implementing science and technology interventions in rural areas.

Pravriddhi, which signifies growth and progress, aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat to drive innovation in product development. It brings together key stakeholders, including enterprises, industry leaders, investors, and experts, to catalyze transformation in the manufacturing sector.
