New Delhi, August 13: IT sector employees’ union NITES has approached the Ministry of Labour and Employment over an alleged prolonged delay in onboarding more than 200 students and young engineers selected by Wipro under its Elite Hiring 2025 process.
The union has asked the ministry to intervene and seek clarity from Wipro regarding the status of the affected candidates, the reasons for the delay and the validity of their offer letters and Letters of Intent.
According to NITES, the affected candidates participated in Wipro’s campus recruitment process in February 2025 and cleared the technical and voice assessments.
After completing the interview process, the candidates received offer letters in July 2025 and Letters of Intent in August. They accepted the documents within the stipulated period.
The candidates later reconfirmed their interest in December 2025 and appeared for a Codility technical assessment in March 2026. NITES said the candidates cleared the assessment and received official clearance communication.
The candidates also completed the background verification process on March 26, 2026, including resolution of an address verification query on the same day.
Despite completing the recruitment requirements communicated by the company, the candidates have allegedly not received a definite onboarding or joining date.
NITES said affected students and young engineers have repeatedly approached Wipro’s HR teams, onboarding helpdesks and other designated channels but have not received substantive responses.
The union has requested that the Labour Ministry seek a clear status of all affected candidates, reasons for the prolonged delay, confirmation of the validity of their offer letters and Letters of Intent, and a definite, time-bound onboarding schedule.
NITES also said that if Wipro does not intend to proceed with any candidate, the company should communicate that decision and the reasons in writing instead of leaving selected candidates in uncertainty.
Wipro’s official careers website confirms that the company continues to operate recruitment programmes and provides dedicated channels for recruitment-related concerns.
The complaint highlights broader concerns faced by young engineers who complete multiple stages of campus recruitment but remain uncertain about their employment status for extended periods.
