Tata Motors launches the all-electric Sierra with a starting price of ₹18.79 lakh, offering up to 665 km claimed range, premium features, and fast charging.

New Delhi, July 1: Tata Motors has officially launched the much-awaited Tata Sierra EV in India, marking the seventh electric vehicle in the company’s growing EV portfolio. Priced from ₹18.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the electric SUV goes up to ₹24.79 lakh for the top variant and is positioned below the Harrier EV.
The Sierra EV brings back the iconic Sierra nameplate in a modern electric avatar with a distinctive design. Compared to its petrol and diesel counterpart, the EV gets a closed front grille, redesigned bumpers, aerodynamically styled 18-inch alloy wheels and EV-specific styling elements. Higher variants also feature a Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) badge.
Inside, Tata has equipped the Sierra EV with a premium cabin featuring a triple-screen layout, including a digital instrument cluster, a large infotainment touchscreen and a dedicated passenger display. The SUV also uses sustainable interior materials made from recycled plastics.
The feature list includes ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, an air purifier, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, rear sunblinds and autonomous parking through the e-Valet system. The Sierra EV also becomes one of the first vehicles to offer Dolby Atmos audio through Apple CarPlay with a 12-speaker JBL sound system.
On the safety front, the SUV comes loaded with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a 540-degree surround camera and a head-up display offering multiple viewing modes.
Powering the Sierra EV are two battery pack options—63 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger battery delivers a claimed 665 km MIDC range, while the smaller pack offers 565 km. Tata says the larger battery can provide over 500 km of real-world driving range under typical conditions.
The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces a combined 504 Nm of torque, ensuring strong performance across different driving conditions. Fast charging support of up to 120 kW allows the SUV to gain more than 250 km of range in just 15 minutes. The Sierra EV also supports Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging, enabling it to power external devices or even charge another EV.
With competitive pricing, long driving range and a technology-rich cabin, the Tata Sierra EV aims to strengthen Tata Motors’ leadership in India’s rapidly expanding electric SUV market.
