Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is preparing for a major expansion in artificial intelligence infrastructure, with its subsidiary Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) securing 264 acres in Hyderabad for a large-scale AI data centre campus.
According to the report, the project could attract investment of up to ₹70,000 crore and will have a planned capacity of up to 1 gigawatt, making it a significant addition to India’s rapidly expanding AI and data centre infrastructure.
The campus is being developed to meet growing demand for computing capacity from artificial intelligence companies and hyperscalers. It will support high-density GPU deployments required for AI training, inference and other advanced computing workloads.
HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to ₹70,000 crore to build and manage the campus. Once fully developed, the facility is expected to rank among India’s largest AI infrastructure campuses.
The project comes as demand for computing power is rising rapidly with the adoption of generative AI and other advanced AI applications. Training and operating increasingly sophisticated AI models requires large clusters of high-performance processors as well as substantial power and cooling infrastructure.
TCS has been increasing its focus on AI services and infrastructure as enterprises accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence. The proposed Hyderabad campus could strengthen the company’s ability to support customers requiring large-scale AI computing capabilities.
Hyderabad has also emerged as an important technology and data centre destination, supported by its established IT ecosystem and growing demand for cloud and digital infrastructure.
The scale of the proposed investment underlines the growing importance of AI infrastructure in India’s technology sector. As domestic and global companies increase spending on AI, demand for specialised data centres capable of handling GPU-intensive workloads is expected to rise significantly.
