Story
New Delhi, June 20: Investors looking for dividend income have an important week ahead as 31 listed companies are scheduled to trade ex-dividend during the final week of June 2026. The list includes several blue-chip names such as Tata Power, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Asian Paints, Indian Hotels, and IndusInd Bank.
Dividend-paying stocks remain a popular choice among investors seeking passive income in addition to capital appreciation. Companies distribute a portion of their profits to shareholders in the form of dividends, rewarding long-term investors.
Major Dividend Announcements
On June 23, some of India’s largest companies will go ex-dividend. Asian Paints has announced a final dividend of ₹23 per share, while Hindustan Unilever will distribute ₹22 per share to eligible shareholders. Indian Hotels Company, part of the Tata Group, will offer ₹3.25 per share, while Tata Power has declared a dividend of ₹2.50 per share.
The biggest activity is scheduled for June 25, when 17 companies will trade ex-dividend. Supreme Industries tops the list with a dividend of ₹25 per share. CARE Ratings will distribute ₹14 per share, Nippon Life India Asset Management ₹12.50 per share, and LIC ₹10 per share.
Why Ex-Dividend Dates Matter
Investors must purchase shares before the ex-dividend date to become eligible for dividend payments. Buying a stock on or after the ex-dividend date generally means the dividend will be paid to the previous shareholder.
The record date is the day a company finalizes its list of eligible shareholders. With India’s T+1 settlement cycle, investors typically need to own shares before the ex-dividend date to qualify.
Opportunity for Income-Focused Investors
Dividend-paying companies are often considered attractive for investors seeking stable returns and regular income. The upcoming dividend calendar offers opportunities across sectors including banking, FMCG, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, chemicals, and financial services.
Market experts advise investors to evaluate company fundamentals, dividend sustainability, and long-term growth prospects rather than making investment decisions solely based on dividend payouts.
As several well-established companies prepare to reward shareholders, the final week of June is expected to remain closely watched by income-focused investors across the market.
