AI is rapidly progressing from a productivity tool to an operational layer in businesses. The latest developments aren’t just about producing text or answering questions; they also involve conducting research, writing code, generating or editing images, automating workflows, and managing voice interactions, while competing on reasoning, coding, cost, and speed. The following are six AI platforms shaping how businesses put the technology into practice.
OpenAI GPT-5.6
OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 family handles complex professional tasks such as coding, research, and knowledge work. It has three levels – Sol, Terra and Luna – designed to balance capability, speed and cost, which makes it a versatile choice for businesses that are using AI across a range of workloads.
Google Gemini
Google aims to develop Gemini beyond a standard chatbot and into an agentic AI platform. The newest versions of Gemini can handle multimodal tasks, and Gemini Spark can operate across Google Workspace applications such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets.
