Patrick McGoldrick sells 21 lakh Tata Technologies shares worth nearly ₹165 crore as major mutual funds and asset managers acquire the stake
New Delhi, September 5, 2026: Patrick Raymon McGoldrick, former CEO and Managing Director of Tata Technologies, has reduced his holding in the company after selling 21 lakh shares through block deals on the BSE for nearly ₹165 crore.
McGoldrick sold the shares in four tranches on Friday at an average price of ₹785 apiece. The transaction, representing approximately 0.51% of the Pune-based engineering and digital services company, was valued at ₹164.85 crore.
Following the transaction, McGoldrick’s shareholding in Tata Technologies declined to 0.62% from 1.13%.
The shares were acquired by ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund, 360 One Asset Management, and Carnelian Asset Management & Advisors. Collectively, the institutional buyers purchased an equivalent number of shares at the same price.
Shares End Lower After Deal
Tata Technologies shares ended Friday’s trading session 0.59% lower at ₹799.85 apiece on the BSE. The block-deal price of ₹785 was below the stock’s closing market price.
McGoldrick had a long association with Tata Technologies, serving the company for around two decades before retiring as CEO and Managing Director in September 2014. He is currently an Executive Director at RNT Associates International Pte Ltd, which provides advisory services and invests in companies developing emerging technologies and business models.
McGoldrick played an important role in the development of Tata Group’s engineering services business. Warren Harris later succeeded him as the company’s chief executive.
Revenue Rises, FY26 Profit Falls
The stake sale comes after Tata Technologies reported an 8% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹204.17 crore for the March quarter, compared with ₹188.87 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Quarterly revenue from operations increased to ₹1,572.22 crore from ₹1,285.65 crore.
For the full FY26, however, consolidated net profit declined to ₹546.59 crore from ₹676.95 crore in FY25. Revenue from operations increased to ₹5,505.57 crore from ₹5,168.45 crore during the same period.
Founded in 1994, Tata Technologies provides product engineering and digital services to global original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers.
The company made its stock market debut in November 2023, becoming the Tata Group’s first public offering in nearly two decades. Its shares ended their debut trading session nearly 163% above the IPO issue price, drawing significant investor attention to the engineering services company.
