Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has expanded its premium SUV portfolio in India with the launch of the exclusive GLE and GLS Night Editions, targeting affluent buyers seeking greater exclusivity, luxury, and distinctive styling. The special editions are part of a global limited-series lineup and will be available in restricted numbers in the Indian market, adding to their collector appeal.
The launch reflects the growing demand for high-end luxury SUVs in India, where the GLE and GLS continue to rank among Mercedes-Benz’s highest-selling models. The company also revealed that India has emerged as one of its top global markets for sales of both SUVs, highlighting the increasing appetite among Indian consumers for premium mobility and luxury experiences.Designed to stand apart from the standard versions, the Night Editions feature exclusive cosmetic and feature upgrades. One of the key highlights is the introduction of Alpine Grey, a new exterior paint option available only on the Night Edition variants and not offered on regular GLE or GLS models. Customers can also choose the Obsidian Black exterior finish for a more aggressive luxury appearance.
Inside the cabin, both SUVs receive black Nappa leather upholstery paired with Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim, creating a sportier and more premium interior environment. Mercedes-Benz has also made the Head-Up Display (HUD) standard on both Night Edition models, enhancing convenience and driver-focused technology. The GLE Night Edition receives an additional upgrade with AIRMATIC suspension, which improves ride comfort and driving dynamics, especially on long-distance journeys and varied Indian road conditions.
The Night Edition range will be available across multiple variants. The GLS 450 Night Edition is priced at ₹1.41 crore, while the GLS 450d Night Edition costs ₹1.43 crore (ex-showroom, India). Meanwhile, the GLE 300d Night Edition is priced at ₹1.05 crore and the GLE 450 Night Edition at ₹1.14 crore.Industry experts believe limited-edition luxury models continue to attract Indian high-net-worth customers looking for exclusivity and differentiated ownership experiences.
