Reliance, Meta Join Hands to Develop India’s First Dedicated AI Data Centre in Jamnagar
In a major boost to India’s ambitions of becoming a global artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure powerhouse, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Meta Platforms have announced a strategic partnership to develop a large-scale AI-enabled data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The project will involve the development of a 168-megawatt hyperscale data centre, making it Meta’s first built-to-suit data centre facility in India. The infrastructure is expected to be delivered within two years and includes provisions for future expansion as demand for AI computing capacity continues to grow worldwide.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in the long-standing relationship between Reliance and Meta, which already collaborate across digital connectivity, commerce, and technology platforms.
