Lucknow, June 22, 2026: The 8th Pay Commission has begun a crucial two-day meeting in Lucknow, where representatives of employee and pensioner organizations are expected to present their demands and recommendations regarding salary and pension revisions.
The consultation, being held on June 22 and 23, is part of the commission’s nationwide outreach program aimed at gathering feedback from various stakeholders before finalizing its recommendations for central government employees and pensioners.
The commission has already conducted similar meetings in Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir and is scheduled to hold upcoming consultations in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar.

According to media reports, Shailendra Dubey, Chairman of the All India Power Engineers Federation, expressed concern that state government employees and power sector representatives have not been allotted dedicated time slots for consultations.
Dubey argued that the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission could significantly impact power sector employees and state government staff, making their participation in the consultation process equally important.
