Dell Launches Powerful AI Server for Next-Generation Computing
New Delhi: Dell Technologies has announced the PowerEdge XE8812, its latest high-performance server built to handle the world’s most demanding artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. Developed as part of the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, the new server is powered by NVIDIA’s latest Vera Rubin NVL4 architecture and is capable of supporting up to 144 GPUs in a single rack, making it one of the industry’s most powerful AI infrastructure platforms.
The launch comes at a time when organizations across industries are rapidly adopting AI for research, engineering, healthcare, manufacturing, and scientific simulations. As AI models become larger and more complex, businesses require computing systems capable of processing enormous amounts of data quickly while maintaining energy efficiency.
The Dell PowerEdge XE8812 features a fanless, direct liquid-cooled design that improves cooling efficiency while reducing power consumption. Compared to the previous generation, the server offers significantly higher memory capacity, more processing cores, larger GPU memory, and improved overall computing performance. These upgrades allow researchers and enterprises to run larger AI models and complex simulations entirely in memory, reducing delays caused by moving data between storage and processors.
Dell has also focused on simplifying deployment and system management. The server is built on the open ORv3 architecture and includes tools such as iDRAC, Integrated Rack Controller, and OpenManage Enterprise, allowing IT teams to remotely monitor, update, and manage infrastructure while detecting issues before they affect operations.
To reduce deployment time, Dell’s factory-integrated PowerRack solution delivers pre-validated rack-scale systems that can be installed and begin running workloads in just over six hours, helping organizations achieve faster returns on their AI investments.
Dell also highlighted the growing momentum of its AI Factory ecosystem, which now supports more than 5,000 customers globally. The company is working with leading institutions including the U.S. Department of Energy, InstaDeep in France, the Wellcome Sanger Institute in the UK, and Monash University in Australia to power advanced AI research, genomic science, climate studies, engineering design, and next-generation supercomputing.
