Mumbai: Shriram Finance has announced plans to double the share of gold loans in its overall lending portfolio from around 2.5% to 5% over the next three years, as the company strengthens its presence in one of India’s fastest-growing secured lending segments.
As of June 2026, the company’s gold loan portfolio stood at ₹7,514 crore, accounting for 2.39% of its ₹3.13 lakh crore loan book. During the first quarter of FY27, the segment recorded a 46% year-on-year growth.
Executive Vice Chairman Umesh Revankar said the company intends to grow the business organically through its nationwide network of more than 3,200 branches rather than pursuing acquisitions.
Apart from gold loans, the lender also plans to expand its MSME portfolio, which currently stands at ₹41,962 crore, as it sees significant long-term growth opportunities in the segment.
The company believes rising gold prices and strong household gold holdings in India will continue supporting demand for secured retail loans.
