Flipkart’s quick-commerce platform Minutes is gaining ground on market leader Blinkit, with strong sales of mobile phones and electronics helping it move ahead on overall order value, according to recent channel checks by UBS.
Excluding mobile phones, Flipkart Minutes currently records a net order value of around ₹500–530, marginally below Blinkit’s average net order value of ₹518 in the first quarter of FY2026–27. However, when mobile phone purchases are included, Minutes’ order value rises above Blinkit’s.
The advantage reflects Flipkart’s established presence in mobile phones and electronics, categories where the e-commerce company has developed strong seller relationships and consumer demand over the years.
The competition remains close among the leading quick-commerce platforms. Swiggy Instamart reported a net average order value of ₹508 in Q1 FY27, placing it in a similar range to Blinkit and Minutes.
Amazon Now, meanwhile, remains behind its rivals. Its average order value is estimated at ₹400–450, although that represents a significant improvement from the ₹260–300 recorded during UBS checks in April 2026. UBS noted that Amazon Now’s figure is on a gross basis, meaning its comparable net order value could be lower.
Flipkart is also broadening the product mix on Minutes. While mobile phones played a larger role during its initial phase, the platform is increasingly focusing on categories such as fresh produce, beauty and personal care products and other everyday essentials.
The expansion appears to be helping Flipkart retain customers who had shifted some of their spending to standalone quick-commerce platforms. In areas where Minutes is operational, around 40–45% of Flipkart shoppers also use Minutes. Metro markets currently contribute about 60–65% of its demand.
Minutes has also expanded its physical network rapidly, crossing 1,000 dark stores across 120–130 cities. Mature stores operating for five to six months are processing around 1,000–1,500 orders per day, according to the UBS-linked report.
Despite the rapid growth, Blinkit retains an operational advantage. Minutes’ gross margins remain below Blinkit’s, although its cost per order in several cities is moving closer to levels seen at Blinkit and Instamart.
