New Delhi, July 4: India and Mali have taken a significant step towards strengthening economic relations by holding the inaugural India–Mali Forum for Promotion of Exports, aimed at expanding bilateral trade, investment, and business cooperation.
The forum comes as bilateral trade between the two countries surpassed US$326 million during FY 2025–26, marking an impressive 55% year-on-year growth, reflecting the expanding commercial relationship.
Both nations identified cotton, mining, energy, pharmaceuticals, and social infrastructure as priority sectors for future collaboration. The discussions focused on creating new business opportunities, encouraging investments, and improving market access for companies from both countries.
The meeting also emphasized stronger engagement between industry stakeholders and government agencies to unlock the untapped potential of bilateral trade and support sustainable economic development.
As part of the growing partnership, Mali announced that it will host an Investment Forum in December 2026, providing a platform for global investors and Indian businesses to explore investment opportunities across key sectors.
The inaugural forum reflects India’s continued efforts to deepen its economic engagement with African nations through enhanced trade cooperation, investment partnerships, and long-term development initiatives.
