New Delhi, July 4: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called on states to accord the highest priority to exports, urging them to fully utilize the BHAVYA Scheme while outlining a comprehensive strategy to accelerate India’s export growth.
Addressing the Board of Trade meeting, Goyal unveiled a seven-point action agenda aimed at strengthening India’s export ecosystem through closer coordination between the Centre, states, and industry.
A key announcement was the launch of a ₹25,000 crore Export Promotion Mission, designed to boost export competitiveness, particularly among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative seeks to improve market access, infrastructure, and global competitiveness for Indian exporters.
The minister also announced a 90-day export drive covering 120 priority districts across 27 States and Union Territories under the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) initiative. The campaign aims to identify district-specific export opportunities and promote local products in international markets.
Goyal emphasized that every state has a critical role in achieving India’s export ambitions by improving ease of doing business, supporting exporters, and strengthening logistics and infrastructure.
Reaffirming the government’s long-term vision, the Commerce Minister set a target of USD 1 trillion in exports, stressing that achieving the milestone would require a coordinated effort between the Centre, state governments, industry bodies, and exporters.
The government believes that stronger MSME participation, district-level export development, and effective implementation of export promotion schemes will play a crucial role in positioning India as a leading global trading nation.
