Lava Launches Online-First Virat Series

Indian smartphone maker Lava International is set to launch its new Virat smartphone series on July 24, 2026, marking its entry into an online-first sales strategy. The lineup includes the Virat V1 5G and Virat V1, both of which will be available exclusively through Flipkart.

Originally scheduled for July 21, the launch has been postponed by three days. Both smartphones are expected to be priced below ₹25,000, placing them in India’s highly competitive budget smartphone segment.

Focus on Online Growth

For nearly 17 years, Lava has primarily relied on its extensive offline retail network, with devices like the Agni and Bold series reaching customers through more than 1.65 lakh retail outlets.

However, the company says its online business has grown by 74% year-on-year, prompting the development of a dedicated product lineup designed specifically for e-commerce customers rather than adapting offline models.

Virat V1 5G Specifications

The Virat V1 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. It is powered by the UNISOC T8200 processor and comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and support for up to 4GB virtual RAM.

For photography, the smartphone includes a 13MP AI dual rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

Virat V1 Features

The standard Virat V1 also offers a 6.75-inch HD+ display but is powered by the UNISOC SC9863A chipset, making it a 4G device. It includes 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a 13MP rear camera, while details about the front camera remain undisclosed.
