India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has reported another strong month of sales, with total vehicle dispatches crossing the 2 lakh-unit mark in June 2026. The company sold around 2 lakh vehicles, registering a 19% increase compared with June 2025, driven by robust domestic demand and steady export growth.
Although the total sales figure came in slightly below market expectations of around 2.15 lakh units, the year-on-year growth highlights the continued strength of India’s passenger vehicle market.
The biggest contribution came from the domestic market, where Maruti Suzuki sold 1.60 lakh vehicles, up 21% from the same month last year. Passenger vehicles remained the company’s strongest segment, with sales of nearly 1.50 lakh units, reflecting a 24% annual increase. The performance indicates sustained consumer demand across Maruti’s popular hatchback, sedan and SUV portfolio.
The company also posted healthy growth in its Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) business. Sales in this category rose 22% year-on-year to 2,963 units, showing improving demand from small businesses and commercial buyers.
Maruti Suzuki’s export business also remained on a strong footing. The automaker exported 42,768 vehicles in June, marking a 13% increase over the previous year. The company has been expanding its presence in international markets, and the latest figures suggest that this strategy is beginning to deliver consistent results.
Industry experts believe Maruti Suzuki’s extensive dealership network, trusted brand image and wide product portfolio continue to attract customers despite increasing competition in the passenger vehicle segment. Strong demand in the domestic market, coupled with rising exports, has helped the company maintain its leadership position.
While the June sales were marginally below analysts’ expectations, the double-digit annual growth reflects healthy momentum for the automaker. If consumer demand remains stable and export volumes continue to rise, Maruti Suzuki is expected to maintain strong sales performance in the coming months as well.
