New Delhi: Meghalaya recorded its highest-ever pineapple sales during the fourth Meghalaya Pineapple Festival held at Dilli Haat in the national capital, with around 30 tonnes of fresh fruit sold over three days.
The sales almost doubled from the 15.4 tonnes sold during the 2025 edition and marked a significant increase from the first festival held in 2023.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma thanked consumers for their overwhelming response and said the growing demand reflects the quality of Meghalaya’s premium pineapples, which are known for their sweetness, rich aroma and low acidity.
The festival serves as a platform to connect farmers directly with retailers, exporters, food processors, hospitality businesses and consumers, helping expand market opportunities for agricultural producers.
