Punjab National Bank (PNB) reported double-digit growth across key business parameters during the quarter ended September 30, 2026, with its global business crossing the Rs 31-lakh-crore mark.
According to the bank’s latest business update, global business increased 12% year-on-year to Rs 31.2 lakh crore. Its domestic business rose 10.8% from the same period last year to Rs 29.7 lakh crore.
The public sector lender also recorded healthy growth in deposits. Global deposits increased 9.9% year-on-year to Rs 17.8 lakh crore, while domestic deposits grew 9.4% to Rs 17.1 lakh crore.
Growth in lending was stronger. PNB’s global advances surged 14.8% year-on-year to Rs 13.4 lakh crore. Domestic advances increased 12.6% to Rs 12.6 lakh crore.
The latest numbers extend the growth seen in the first quarter of FY27. In Q1FY27, PNB’s global business had crossed Rs 30 lakh crore after rising 10% year-on-year, while domestic business stood at Rs 29 lakh crore.
PNB had also reported a sharp increase in profitability during Q1FY27. Net profit more than tripled to Rs 5,253 crore from Rs 1,675 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Net interest income increased 2% year-on-year to Rs 10,798 crore. Asset quality also showed improvement, with gross NPA declining to 2.78% from 2.95% and net NPA easing to 0.28% from 0.29%.
