Lava has expanded its Smart series with the new Smart 4, targeting young and first-time smartphone users.
The phone features a 6.56-inch qHD display, Android 16 Go and MIL-STD-810H certification.

Lava International has expanded its affordable Smart series in India with the launch of the Lava Smart 4. Priced at ₹8,499, the smartphone is aimed primarily at young and first-time smartphone users looking for an affordable device with practical features, long battery life and enhanced durability.
The Lava Smart 4 features a 16.66cm (6.56-inch) qHD display, designed for everyday activities including watching videos, browsing social media, online learning and entertainment. The smartphone is available in two colour options — Konark Gold and Ajanta Grey.
Under the hood, the Smart 4 is powered by the UNISOC SC9863A processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM and supports up to an additional 3GB of virtual RAM. Users get 32GB of internal storage.
Battery capacity is one of the key features of the device. Lava has equipped the Smart 4 with a 5000mAh battery, along with a USB Type-C port and support for 10W charging. The company says the setup is designed to deliver dependable all-day performance.
For photography, the smartphone features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It supports Dual SIM 4G+4G connectivity and also provides calling features including conference calling, anonymous call recording and automatic call recording.
The Smart 4 runs on Android 16 Go, which is designed to provide a lightweight and responsive software experience. Lava has also promised two years of security updates for the device.
Another major feature is its MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. According to Lava, the certification provides enhanced durability against the drops and shocks associated with everyday use.
The Smart 4 also comes with Lava’s Free Service @ Home facility for after-sales support across India.
The smartphone is priced at ₹8,499 and is available across Lava retail outlets. Lava said financial schemes are also available through offline retailers and service providers.
