New Delhi, August 17: German chemical major HELM AG and Indian agrochemical company Parijat Industries have entered into a strategic partnership covering digital commerce, branded crop protection products, technical manufacturing and international distribution.
The collaboration will combine HELM’s global agricultural-input portfolio and technology capabilities with Parijat’s manufacturing infrastructure, formulation expertise and distribution network.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening digital agriculture, expanding crop-protection offerings and creating new opportunities for both companies across domestic and international markets.
Digital Agriculture At The Centre
A major component of the partnership will focus on digital commerce and farmer connectivity.
Parijat will acquire a retailer-focused digital commerce platform along with its retailer database, with the objective of improving procurement efficiency, market access and distribution capabilities.
The company will also work with PEAT GmbH, a HELM portfolio company that operates the Plantix digital agriculture platform.
Through the collaboration, Parijat plans to leverage Plantix’s farmer-connect and demand-generation capabilities, including direct-to-farmer marketing opportunities.
HELM Brand To Enter India
The partnership will also bring HELM-branded agricultural products to the Indian market.
Parijat and its subsidiary Leeds Lifesciences will receive exclusive rights to the HELM brand in India.
The company plans to introduce HELM’s Plant Advantage Line, which includes biostimulants and biological products, to Indian farmers.
The move could expand the range of crop-protection and agricultural-input solutions available through Parijat’s existing distribution network.
Manufacturing Partnership Expands
The agreement also includes a major manufacturing component.
Parijat’s manufacturing capabilities and patented formulation-development expertise will be leveraged to support HELM’s global requirements.
The Indian company plans to develop technical manufacturing capabilities for proprietary molecules developed by HELM and serve as a toll manufacturing partner for its global active-ingredient and formulation requirements.
This could provide Parijat with an opportunity to deepen its role within international agricultural supply chains.
New International Markets
The partnership is also expected to help Parijat expand its own product portfolio internationally.
The company plans to use HELM’s global distribution network to explore markets including Latin America, Canada and Southeast Asia.
Access to HELM’s sourcing network could also improve Parijat’s procurement competitiveness while its relationships with multinational innovators could help position the company as a co-development partner in India.
Digital Tools For Farmers
The collaboration reflects the increasing role of digital technology in India’s agricultural-input industry.
Digital platforms such as Plantix can help connect agricultural businesses with farmers while providing channels for product discovery, advisory services and demand generation.
For Parijat, combining digital farmer engagement with its manufacturing and distribution capabilities could create a more integrated model for reaching agricultural customers.
Global Agriculture Opportunity
HELM described India as an important market for the future of agriculture and said Parijat would add value to its global partnership network.
For Parijat, the agreement represents an opportunity to combine international technology, sourcing and distribution capabilities with its established Indian manufacturing and formulation base.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
The collaboration could ultimately strengthen Parijat’s position across both India’s growing agricultural market and international crop-protection supply chains.
