News Story:
New Delhi, July 1: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the maintenance period for its online services until July 2, 2026, as it continues a major system upgrade designed to improve service efficiency and security.
According to the latest update, the maintenance work will continue until 11:59 pm on July 1, with online services expected to resume from 12:00 am on July 2.
During the maintenance period, EPFO members will not be able to submit new online claims through the official portal. The organisation has also temporarily paused claim processing while the database migration and software upgrade are being completed.
EPFO clarified that members who had already submitted their claims before the maintenance began do not need to reapply. Those pending claims will automatically be processed once the upgraded system becomes operational.
The ongoing upgrade includes database consolidation and enhancements to EPFO’s software infrastructure. The organisation said the changes are intended to accelerate claim processing, improve service delivery, and strengthen cybersecurity for millions of members.
EPFO has apologised for the temporary inconvenience and advised members requiring assistance during the outage to contact its customer support helpline. Once the migration is completed successfully, all online claim-related services are expected to resume from July 2.
